X~PWR X4™ all-weather external power kit allows your Insta360 X4 camera to be plugged into an external USB power source for continuous power.
The aluminum case provides the maximum camera protection. X~PWR X4 cable provides protection against the harsh environments of outdoor, winter & powersports activities.
- Weatherproof* (IP65 - water washdown)
- Mount frame is machined from aircraft grade aluminum billet and is black anodized for harsh weather protection.
- The mount frame provide three mounting options:
- Flip out fingers
- ¼-20 threaded hole (standard camera/tripod thread) bottom
- ¼-20 threaded hole (standard camera/tripod thread) side
- Three cold shoes – one on top and one on each side
- Side load allows ease of camera removal without removing the mount.
- All camera microphones are exposed for optimum audio
- USB cable has a custom overmold that is secured tightly to the camera to prevent damage.
- USB cable seal pad is made from oil and gas resistant closed cell foam for maximum seal compliance and excellent environmental protection
- Kits available with USB cable lengths of 9”, 18”, 36”, 48” & 66”

I puchased my first item from #BR Powersports several years ago for my GoPro 9. I recently puchased an Insta360 X4 and was looking for an option to power the camera for 8 hrs plus. Just like the one for the GoPro 9. This case/power supply is awesome. Allows you to keep the battery charged and record continuously. Highly recomment this case/power supply.
Great product, good quality. I hope you're going to develope a 90° Usb-c so the cable points directly downwards. If so I'm ordering that instantly. Overall an outstanding product.
The water resistant cable that comes with the case is not capable of delivering sufficient power via USB-A.
I ended up having to run a USB-C to USB-C cable which works great but obviously is lacking in the waterproofing capabilities of the original USB cable.
3BR really needs to redesign the cables to be entirely USB-C. Going from C to A is a substantial downgrade.
With that said, the enclosure itself is fantastic and very convenient.
Andrey - the problem isn't with the cable. The cable doesn't provide power, it only transmits the power from the charger to the battery.
It appears that you didn't plug the X~PWR X4 cable into a power source with sufficient power. My testing with both a USB-PD charger and a 2.4A BC1.2 chargers shows that, when recording the X4 draws almost the same amount of power. With the BC1.2 charger, the voltage goes down to 5VDC but the current increases to maintain the same power level.
The only place where the USB-C to USB-C makes a difference is when the camera is off. In that case a USB-PD charger will charge the battery faster.
Try plugging your X4 into a BC1.2 charger with 2.1A to 2.4A output. You will find that it records just fine.
BTW - the reason that the X~PWR cables are USB-C to USB-A is so they are compatible with our patented TAPP CAPP. That gives a weatherproof connection when plugged into our TAPP all-weather USB power port.

Like everything from 3BR Powersports, this well designed, well manufactured, mount does exactly what it is sold to do. Keep your camara secure and externally powered on.
